A special gathering place for friends, the von Trapp Bierhall is attached to von Trapp Brewing and serves up lunch and dinner selections with a decidedly Austrian flair. Try out our freshly brewed von Trapp Brewing lagers and local hard cider with your friends in a unique Austrian atmosphere. The Bierhall is the only place in Stowe that features delicious new test batches of our von Trapp Brewing lagers!
Our Bierhall is open from 11:30am - 9pm. We suggest placing dining reservation through Resy before arriving but also take walk in reservations when space is available. If you would like to enjoy a few fresh von Trapp lagers and pretzels, then seating is first come at our bar. Table reservations are for dining only.
Located on the grounds of Trapp Family Lodge, the von Trapp Brewing Bierhall Restaurant is conveniently situated on the cross-country ski and mountain bike trails. The Bierhall is a gathering place for friends to enjoy “a little of Austria, a lot of Vermont,” serving fresh lager beers and a selection of freshly prepared Austrian lunch and dinner selections. Many of the menu items are prepared on the wood-fired Parrilla grill that is the showcase feature of the Bierhall. Start and finish your mountain bike ride or cross-country ski at the Bierhall Restaurant, and shop the well-appointed gift shop.

From the German word for “Bright,” this Munich-style golden lager is the original beer that our brewery was built upon. Perle and Tettnang hops lend aromatics of honeysuckle and fresh cut grass balanced by the soft and bready malt character from the continental Plisner malt. Complex yet balanced and highly drinkable, Helles is brewed for every occasion.
Named for the city where the signature style was born, this Austrian-style amber lager has malt notes of bread crust, toffee, and toast combined with a grassy and floral hop bouquet making for a balanced and full-flavored drinking experience.
Our award-winning interpretation of the original Czech-style pale lager. Spicy and zesty aromatics from Saaz hops combine with notes of honey and hay from continental Plisner malt to create a fulfilling and quenching bright lager with a dry, and subtly bitter finish.
This Munich-style dark lager is brewed and fermented with traditional Bavarian ingredients and techniques, creating robust malt notes of caramel and chocolate with a smooth mouthfeel and crisp finish.
Brewed with continental Pilsner malt, noble hops, and fermented cool with a traditional yeast strain from Cologne, Germany, this bright and refreshing blonde ale is crisp and dry with a floral and subtly fruity finish.
The third offering in our Cellar Series is a celebratory homage to one of our favorite west coast fresh hop India Pale Ales, produced in collaboration with Barrique Brewing of Nashville, Tennessee. Brewed with Vienna malt and fermented with our house Bavarian lager yeast, this beer uses whole-cone Cascade and Columbus hops in the whirlpool and is dry-hopped with fresh Cascade, Columbus, and Chinook hops from the Pacific Northwest. Deep amber in color with bright and juicy notes of pine, resin, grapefruit, and caramel with a soft, chewy mouthfeel and lightly dry and bitter finish.
This collaboration with Brauerei Hoffstetten of St. Martin, Austria, is the next offering in the Stowe Style Series: an unfiltered pale lager brewed with Austrian-grown Heines Haisa organic malt and Malling hops. Inspired by the Zwickelbier tradition of sampling directly from the fermentation vessel, this beer is hazy straw in color featuring bright, floral, and zesty hop aromatics, with a full body yet crisp and light finish.
The fourth offering in our Cellar Series is a Černé Pivo style lager produced in collaboration with Em Sauter of Pints and Panels. This double-decocted lager is brewed with a blend of floor-malted Bohemian light and dark malts, 100% Czech-grown hops, and fermented with Budvar lager yeast. Dark and roasty with notes of coffee and caramel with a smooth, lightly sweet finish.
